Celebrating National Bao Day and Supporting Chinatown’s Restaurants The Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii, in partnership with Trust for Public Land and American Savings Bank, is proud to present the second Battle of the Bao — a fun and flavorful competition celebrating National Bao (Manapua) Day! Saturday, August 22, 2026 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM ʻAʻala Park Local Chinatown restaurants will compete for the title of best bao — and you get to be the judge! Join us for free tastings (while supplies last) and cast your vote for your favorite. Which bun will rise to the top? This exciting event will follow the Chinese Chamber’s annual Chinatown Cleanup from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We invite all volunteers and community members to stay and help us support our Chinatown businesses while enjoying some delicious local flavors.
